parts needed – bead to make into a pendent, headpin (we recommend a large sterling silver one; which we have used here), about 75cm of chain, one clasp and 1-2 small spacer beads

select a headpin which is long enough to go through the bead with extra length to work with and a large enough head so it will not fall through the bead. (You can always put a spacer bead on the headpin to stop it falling through the bead)

Put the headpin through the bead and then a small spacer bead on the headpin

hold the headpin with round nose pliers and bend around the thickest part of the pliers, towards you and down. (make sure you are going to create a large enough loop for the chain to fit through)

then twist the headpin around itself 2-3 times. cut off any excess headpin and pinch in the last of the headpin under the loops with some flat nose pliers

thread your chain through the loop

attached the clasp of your choice (here we have used a bolt ring) to one end of the chain by opening the attached jumpring, inserting chain and closing. (you may need to add a jumpring if the clasp does not come with one)

the clasp can then close into any part of the chain allowing you to wear it an any length

you can also use this chain for all the different pendents you can now create – make sure to check out our great chain selection

enjoy!

parts needed – 6 swarovski crystals, 4 headpins, 2 eyepins, 1 pair earring hooks or studs with loop and 1/4 meter of chain

thread four of the crystals onto the headpins and two onto the two eyepins (eyepins have a loop at one end). with flat nose pliers bend all the pins to right angles

cut the pins with cutters at about 1 cm from the bend. place round nose pliers at the cut and bend the pin up and around (the opposite direction of the bend) to make a loop.

cut the chain into four strips, two longer equal lengths and two shorter (by about 1 cm) equal lengths. slightly reopen the loops on the four headpins with crystals and attach one length of each chain. close all loops again

slightly reopen the eyepins with crystals and attached to each one, one of the longer and one of the shorter chains (now with crystals attached). close loops

slightly open the other loop on the eyepin and attach the earring hook or stud. close loop

Start with 1.2meter length of thin tiger tail wire
Place a parrot clasp through tiger tail. Bend/loop the tiger tail at half way so at one end of the necklace is the parrot clasp and the other has the two ends of tiger tail.
Crimp the parrot clasp in place by sliding the crimp along both pieces of tiger tail and using flat nose pliers squash in place at parrot clasp.

Start by then threading 1 crystal on both pieces of tiger tail and sliding down wires until reach the other end where the parrot clasp is. Then thread 1 pearl on to only one of the tiger tail wires. Continue alternatively with the crystal on both tiger tail wires and a pearl on just the one until you reach the desired length for your necklace.

Finish the necklace by threading both pieces of the tiger tail through a crimp (a larger crimp will needed), then through a tag. Loop the wires back round and through the crimp again. Squash the crimp with the flat nose pliers.
